This swing beside a dirt path in the woods reminds me that we often need a quiet place where we can think, play, relax, and just be by ourselves for awhile.
It reminds me of a Ralph Carmichael song that I learned to love years ago . . .
There is a quiet place
far from the rapid pace
where God can soothe my troubled mind.
Sheltered by tree and flower
there in my quiet hour with him
my cares are left behind.
Whether a garden small,
or on a mountain tall
new strength and courage there I find,
and then from that quiet place
I go prepared to face a new day
with love for all mankind

For many years I passed St. Andrews Episcopal Church several times a week traveling between Selma and Thomasville, AL. The Carpenter Gothic architecture always caught my eye. I photographed it many years ago in the film days, but stopped and photographed again. It was built in 1853-1854 and is located in Gallion, Alabama near the Post Office.
Below are other views of the church.

Travelers in the Southern United States will see many barns along the highways with “See Rock City” painted on them. These signs were painted on 900 barns by Clark Byers between 1935 and 1969.
I have seen them all my life. What I never noticed until recently were doghouse billboard signs advertising Rock City. Here are two signs that are on Highway 72 in North Alabama.
This first shows the size of the signs.
The next two images are closer pictures that show the detail and construction better.
I passed these signs just before I drove into the storm in my “Angry Clouds in Alabama” post.

I saw this church with signs pointing in various directions and had to stop and take the picture.
