My camera and I went for a walk this morning and were greeted by these golden rays gleaming through the trees.

The full moon appears to be rolling down the contrail or vapor trail left by an airplane.

The afternoon sun sifts through the leaves onto the roof of this old barn and its surroundings to create a patchwork of light and shade. To me it suggests a peaceful country afternoon. What does it suggest to you?

Just Stand . . .

I took many images of the Matterhorn, but this one of the massive peak standing tall amid blowing winds, snow, and clouds portrays the indomitable spirit of the mountain. It reminds me of Donnie McClurkin’s song, “Stand.”

“Tell me what do you do when you’ve done all you can
And it seems like you can’t make it through?
Child, you just stand, you just stand.”

A Lingering Reminder . . .

This old house, nestled among trees and overgrowth, attracted my attention partly because of the soft diffused lighting from an overcast day coupled with the shade of trees.

Abandoned houses and buildings are lingering reminders of people, times, experiences, and architectural designs now gone. When we photograph an old house we preserve a bit of history before it too slips away with the people and life experiences that once inhabited it.

Coming Out of the Fog

Several times I have seen this bridge while traveling north on I-65 out of Mobile, Alabama and wanted to photograph it. Each time I drove on. This time the lighting and fog made it irresistable.

The truck driving through the fog reminds me, that there are periods of life when we go through a fog. We can’t see where we are going with clarity; but if we keep driving, things will clear up.
