The Door of No Return is the door which thousands of our shackled ancestors trudged through as they left Cape Coast Castle to be loaded on to crammed slave ships that transported them to the Americas during the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. The final picture shows fishing boats and fishermen now where slave ships once docked. – Cape Coast Castle.

Peaceful and Free

More than a century ago these rocks behind the Cape Coast Castle witnessed the horrors of slave trade as hundreds of thousands of frightened Africans stood manacled on these rocks before being loaded onto slave ships. Today these same rocks are a place of peaceful freedom, where bright young African boys play and free Black men can stand quietly watching white waves dash and die on dark rocks that have stubbornly resisted the merciless pounding. Cape Coast, Ghana.
