At the close of day, the sun looks back and casts a golden glow over the past and promises a golden future to those whose hope dares pierce the dark hours of the coming night. – R. Steven Norman, III

Every rushing, pounding wave touches the shore for a moment
and then turns to suds and slips back out to sea.

only to be overcome by the relentless pull of time into the bosom of eternity.

The beauty of the sunset is often blinding, so I have developed the habit of looking away from the sunset to see the splashes of gold, peach, and orange hues the sun casts over everything as it bids farewell and rushes on to brighten someone else’s life. From Kerry Park, Seattle, Washington.

After I finished shooting the Seattle skyline through the golden and blue hours, I was on my way to my car when I saw a monument with large circular holes in each side. There should be a picture here somewhere I thought. Then I saw this image and captured it.

DubaiTrip2013-0138
