FedEx trucks traveling I-70, pull as many as three trailers through Spotted Wolf Canyon. The sheer size of the Canyon dwarfs the trucks.

I saw this rock formation out of the corner of my eye while driving through the Petrified Forest National Park. It reminded me of two people walking with one looking back. I drove to where I could turn around, went back, took the picture, and called it “Lot’s Wife.” ( See Genesis 19:26)

When I saw this fenced building with the staircase and apartments missing, I immediately saw a visual of what life looks like for so many people. From their perspective, they can never climb up to their dream of a better life, because the way to the top has been destroyed and barricaded.

Saw the moon rising over the Chimney Tops in Smokey Mountain National Park. It seemed so close. So large. In that moment the heavens declared the glory of God to me.

Foggy Morning

Foggy morning with light frost.

Weather and lighting often add a mood to scenes that force me to stop and create an image that conveys the mood.

I love the crisp feeling of the air on early winter mornings. It is so refreshing. Always makes me inhale deeply, the joy of a new day.

I am always amazed at the ability of trees and plants to grow, thrive, and be fruitful in some of the most difficult places. Learning their secret of growth can help us grow.
